Pori

Pori is a warm and welcoming city on Finland’s western coast, where a wide river meets the sea and centuries of trading history have shaped a place full of character. It has been a busy and important city since the 1500s, and you can feel that proud history in its streets, especially when you spot the stunning neoclassical Town Hall right at the city’s heart, designed by one of Finland’s most celebrated architects.

But Pori is not just about the past — it is wonderfully alive! Every July, the city transforms into one of Europe’s greatest music destinations, when jazz lovers pour in from across the world to celebrate in Kirjurinluoto Park, a beautiful island right in the middle of the river. The energy is electric and totally unforgettable.

Nature lovers will adore Pori too. Just outside the city lies Yyteri, a sweeping wild beach that goes on for kilometres — perfect for adventures along the Baltic coast. Pori really does have something for everyone.
